Commissioning a mosaic
Yes. You can choose from Mosamia's existing designs or send your own — a photograph, a portrait, a family picture, an illustration or another visual composition.
The original image is preserved as faithfully as the material allows. Cropping is used only where the installation area's proportions differ from the image's own.
Two simulations. A mosaic simulation shows how your image will appear rebuilt in natural stone, and a close-up simulation shows how it is interpreted through the individual 1 cm tesserae.
Both are produced before the project proceeds, so the decision to go ahead is made with the result already in front of you.
Evaluation and the simulations are near-instant — there is no waiting period to see your image in stone.
Production takes about 3–4 weeks, depending on the project, and begins once the specifications and the simulation are confirmed.
There is no fixed size. After receiving your image, Mosamia determines the minimum size it needs to reproduce effectively, and can propose larger alternatives.
Dimensions vary from project to project. The work is built from 1 cm x 1 cm tesserae assembled into 31.2 cm x 31.2 cm modules, and an artwork combines as many modules as it needs.
Pricing and samples
Both Art and Collection are sold through quote requests, and pricing is not published for either. Artworks have no fixed size and projects differ in material, quantity and destination, so a quote is prepared per project.
Production begins against a 50% deposit.
The rest of the payment structure is agreed directly as part of your quote.
Yes, across the range — Art and Collection. Sample Request ships real physical stone, not an information pack or a quote reply.
Samples are charged, and the cost is confirmed on request before anything ships. For an Art sample, what arrives is a small module cut: several tesserae assembled together, so you can judge how the stones read beside one another and how the joints behave.
Installation
As modules. Because larger artworks are made of several 31.2 cm x 31.2 cm modules, every project includes a placement guide, and each module carries placement information on its backing so installers can reconstruct the artwork correctly on site.
Grout is chosen for the application — epoxy or conventional grey.
There is an optional magnetic system. Modules are mesh-backed as standard; for this option magnets attach to the back of the mesh and a 2 mm galvanised steel sheet is fitted to the wall, so modules position individually onto the metal and can be removed by pulling them away from it, then relocated or reused.
It suits trade fairs, exhibitions, showrooms, shopping malls, offices, temporary displays and residential display. It is an option, and does not replace conventional permanent installation.
It is not limited to framed or decorative display. Mosaics can be installed as integrated architectural surfaces — walls, floors, residential and commercial spaces, hospitality environments, offices, public interiors and feature areas.
Ordering and shipping
No. Order volume is flexible: smaller orders, project quantities, crate or pallet quantities, larger commercial orders, container shipments and mixed shipments are all supported.
You are not required to fit one purchasing profile.
Yes. Mosamia sits within a broader natural stone business covering production, export and logistics, so Mosamia products can be combined with other natural stone available through the wider group to make up efficient shipments — including complete containers using several product categories.
The primary starting markets are the United States, Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom. Mosamia is not limited to them and works with customers and projects elsewhere.
Mosamia works as a product supplier and as a project-support partner — product selection, artwork sizing, simulation, mosaic planning, installation organisation and project-specific recommendations. That support matters most on Art projects.
